Overview

Creket is Creators Market platform where you buy, sell, and discover branded content, whose mission is to help creators power sponsorship businesses.

As a lead product designer, I led the global product design from the scratch such as bringing up concept and identifying problems. I mainly created rapid wireframes and established a design system to consolidate visual components boosting team efficiency.

Problem Space

Managing Influencer marketing campaigns is challenging. Influence marketing has been with an unnecessary process like sending proposals and negotiating prices between creators and sponsors.

"The biggest challenge in managing influencer campaigns are finding influencers to participate(36%) and managing the contracts(24%)."

Discovery

What are the most challenging parts of proceeding sponsorship business?

To start off the user ideation, we conducted preliminary 1:1 user interviews with creators from the Facebook influencer related groups who actively seek sponsorship opportunities. Through the process, we identified significant hassles in the journey of sponsorship.

Definition

Cut off the negotiation and go straight to the deal.

Based on the interview findings and market research, we identified the key characteristics of current problems. Since sponsorships have been made through marketing agencies, there have been many unnecessary processes such as storyboard, contracts, processing fee and payment arrangement. We wanted to eliminate this unnecessary process by providing an innovative experience with a market platform to enable them to trade directly.

No negotiation and no hassle any more.

User Ideation

Key needs

With our goal in mind, we moved on to brainstorm for the key needs of creators and sponsors. Considering both demands for sponsorship, we identified creators want to sell their content. Our team found that the main needs of each target are 'sell' and 'buy', so we decided to focus on creating the ultimate user experience that satisfies these desires.

After considering these steps, we were able to come up with what kind of user experience we should design for optimising each user's action.

Planning

Sitemaps

We aimed to launch a responsive web with optimisation for mobile as a priority. I organised the site map separately to enhance each view on the mobile and web. Listing the elements shown on each page, I arranged the pages affected by clicking upon a button so that we can see the structure of the entire site at a glance. Based on this sheet, I linked each element to a relevant page.

Design System

During the process, I established brand and a scalable components system for the responsive web. While communicating closely with our developer, I delivered a design system to ease the implementation process. The design system features typography, color system, and a component library.

Typography system

The typography system is built on the Poppins family known for one of the Geometric sans serif typefaces have been a popular design tool for building websites. In order to optimise responsive web, I delivered a typography system to be resizable for each device.

Brand system

I established Creket's brand system for conveying the creators' creativeness. The logo is built with elegant San Serif font, Railway, and the colour system is centered on the three primary colors with strong saturation to form a vibrant brand atmosphere.

In order to maintain consistency throughout the product and enable Creket to continue to build upon the design system based on the Materials design and the iOS Human Interface Guideline, I created a component library.

Our modular design system created recognisable UI patterns for our users and ensured an easy developer hand-off to implement. A preview is included below.

Onboarding

The onboarding process is composed of 3 parts: sign up/sign in, setting up a profile, social integration. This is s a crucial procedure in terms of gathering the user's data of composing their profile to provide personal details for encouraging reliable sponsorship deals.

Sign Up and Set Your Profile

Profile information is mutually important for achieving sponsorship deals. The details must be well-populated to prevent fake influencer activities as well. Therefore, we demanded users to fill in the minimum amount of data throughout the registration process.

Walkthrough

If users click the listing icon for the first time after signing up, they can go through the corresponding work-through step to open the shop. We improved creators' experience for opening their shop helping understand through walkthrough after receiving user feedback that they wanted to understand more about the initial start.

Sell Branded Content

We analysed the types of content that influencers enable to monetise. Creators are usually making profits through posts on Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter and blogs. Among them, we decided to focus on three social media: Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, which are the most popular and tend to be considered as high sales value for branded content. Therefore, the content types of those social media can be organised into deliverable details when creators set up their listing.

Simply Add a Content Link

Creators don't have to spend a lot of time listing their content products. Simply add a content link from their social media to the deliverable details. The creator's content they have is what sponsors would get.

List Branded Content and Get a New Order

A single listing is a single content to be sold. Simply create each listing under one content format and get paid 24/7 from the instant order in a marketplace platform. Sponsors will place an order after reviewing the creators' content listing.

Showcase Sponsorship

A single listing is a single content to be sold. Simply create each listing under one content format and get paid 24/7 from the instant order in a marketplace platform. Sponsors will place an order after reviewing the creators' content listing.Creators need social proof to build a reputation for accomplishing sponsorship deals successfully.

Accordingly, I designed 'showcasing experience' so that they can share their sponsorship output after completing their deals while reviewing each other. The showcased content will be displayed on each other's profile so that potential partners would consider their decision for future sponsorship.

Get notified immediately

Creators receive notification and email automatically as soon as orders are placed. This operation enables creators to accomplish immediate sponsorship in progress.

Listing Stats

Creket provides listing stats for creators to give insight about the number of Listings, Orders, Views, Picks(Like) and Revenue so that they can identify which type of content is better profitable and continuously produce quality content.

Design Solutions

Shop Branded Content

Creket works such as an e-Commerce store. Sponsors and brands can shop branded content anytime, anywhere. We constructed our product as mobile-responsive, giving customer instant access and real-time updates. With Creket, managing influencer marketing campaigns is easier than ever.

Add to Bag

Sponsors can shop creators' listing of selling their branded content sample and simply add them to their shopping bag.

Checkout

Once they add branded content to the shopping bag, sponsors can purchase multiple content at once. All payment is secured with PayPal.

Request Message

If sponsors want custom requests, they can add request message when they make an order for creators to better understand sponsorship deals.

Order status

The order status changes according to the action buttons required by the sponsor or creator for each order status. It is classified as 5 Stages — Order Placed, Cancelled, In Progress, Completed, Showcased, and I drafted for asking minimal action throughout the overall order process in order to simplify the transaction experience.

Get notified immediately

Creators receive notification and email automatically as soon as orders are placed. This operation enables creators to accomplish immediate sponsorship in progress.

Order Details

Once an order has placed, sponsors can check the detailed information on what they purchased and where the progress is going on.

Messaging

We considered the message feature as a critical experience for sponsorship proceeding smoothly. Thus, we intended the ordering process to be a natural flow into the message function. To ease the complexity of development, we determined to design undemanding experience throughout the messaging process between a creator and sponsor.

From Inquiry to Order Process

The message represents the flow of the ordering process. Sponsors can inquiries about the branded content prior to order and follow the progress after the order placed. The information will links the user to the order details page.

Promo Code

Sponsors can receive the promotion code created by the creator via a message and get a discount by using it for the next purchase.

Phrase

Sponsors can register frequently used phrases in advance and use them with a simple click in the message. This eliminates to write new messages every time.

Find creators fit a sponsor

Finding creators fit a sponsor and brand concept and needs is principal for the influencer marketing. Therefore, we devised a search function with sophisticated filters to discover appropriate creators. It’s free to browse Creket creators. Never pay for an influencer list or database again.

Impact

Creket launched beta service early June 2020 and 300 global creators of the United States, Europe, and Asia has joined Creket within 3 weeks since the launch. In South Korea, it's the only product to have the most global creators.

Creket is constantly receiving feedback from users and keeps moving forward to create an innovative sponsorship experience that has never been before based on the marketplace platform.
